THE BERKSHIRE BREED
Berkshire pigs are a heritage breed which have not been genetically modified through years of commercial breeding.
The flavour of the pork is not compromised to produce larger litters and leaner meat.
Berkshires have a gentle nature and produce pork that is clean and succulent (unlike any other !).
Berkshire pork is also known as the “Wagu” of the pork world due to the marbling in the meat which produces a much richer sweeter buttery flavour.
ENJOY FREE RANGE PASTURED PORK
Our Berkshire pigs are free range and locally raised in Coolup (between Pinjarra and Waroona) Western Australia.
Our pigs are hormone and antibiotic free, happy and healthy and from the best stock in Australia.
They are treated with the utmost respect and are grass fed and enjoy other nutrient rich food: high protein pig pellets, windfall local fruit, whey from cheese making and macadamias from our on farm orchard.
Pasture raised pork has a great nutrient quality as the pigs like humans synthesize vitamin D in their skin and fat when exposed to sunshine.
So you can feel good enjoying it!
